Back to Black Friday, I have been asked by others what would be some great deaf or hard of hearing related gifts for this year. I have no idea what other deaf and hard of hearing people would like, but I can think of at least 10 things that could be useful or fun for some deaf and hard of hearing people, including myself (hint, hint).

3. Apple iPad
6. "I'm Deaf" pet tag
(if they have deaf pets).
Don't buy it for the intended person, they may not find it funny.

How about Do-It-Yourself Cochlear Implant Kit? They'd love the gift.
ReplyDeleteI'd just go abroad somewhere sunny and forget about it lol... it's for kids really..... not commerce. I was happy enough a as child with a stocking and a real banana in it and some chocolate and nuts. The icing was really the home made fort my Dad made, all this talk of icrap leaves me feeling a bit dejected about what kids expect these days. I don't want gizmos either, I can text on my phone I don't want anything else... (I'd consider a DIY CI kit :) ).
ReplyDeleteI *love* the 24K gold diamond encrusted hearing aid - you definitely left the best till last! :D
ReplyDeleteMM, I'm there with you. Give me a sunny and warm place and a good book, and I am in heaven. I am not into gizmos either, but an iPAD would be really cool, just so I can use it with my students.
ReplyDeleteAnne, I saved the best for last, that's for sure! LOL. If I could afford it, I would wear it for laughs. And then I would donate it to charity.
A Do-it-Yourself CI kit sounds scary. I would not trust myself or my parents to install an implant into my cochlea. Maybe if it somehow did not involve surgery, and after five years or so it still works well for those who tried it, I would consider it.
